Support request for sranantongo

Yes, i did all that. Though not recently. I think many months ago when I first tested Theocbase. I have sranantongo talks entered as dutch language talks and my interface is also dutch. I have the speakers also setup. Just when I try to add the talks to them nothing happens. Should I maybe try deleting the talks and inputting them again?

Public talks won't show up if their defined language does not equal the chosen interface language (don't ask me why...). Meaning: if you use TB in e.g. English, you have to 'tell' TB your talk themes are English also, whether they actually are or not. If you want to redefine the language of imported talks, you'd need to go into the database, but if no talks have been assigned to persons yet, it is easier to delete imported talks and reimport them, choosing the 'correct' language this time.

Local public speakers are marked as such under persons (publishers), where you define all meeting parts for persons in your local congregation.

Speakers from other congregations: define congregation first, then add speakers in the Public Talk menu (not Settings  - Public talks) (do not add local speakers in this menu, this would cause that speaker to appear twice in the publisher table)
Select a speaker and hit the stylus icon to the right: tick the talks this speaker has. (or use a comma separated string after hitting the + icon)

I noticed that importing the workbook, watchtower and teaching brochure all work in sranantongo now. I think the songbook too if I remember correctly. I've also added the talk titles and congregations with speakers too, but for some reason adding a talk to a speaker doesn't work. No error, just nothing happens. I'll see if there is an answer in the forum.

I've added a zip file with custom templates for sranantongo, Aukan (okanisi) and Saramaccan for anyone interested. Also another zip with notes of what was translated

The expressions !TITLE! and !CONGREGATION_TITLE! didn't need replacing since you can configure them in the interface; !TITLE! under extra option in the printing tab and !CONGREGATION_TITLE! under settings.

OK, as for the templates: go to the template folder (it is within the TB installation folder and called 'templates')

Find the template you want to change. I take MW-Schedule_1 as an example. 
Copy (!)  the template outside of the template folder: permissions within that folder usually being restricted, plus you want to keep the original.

Use a good editor to open it (e.g. Notepad++ or VisualCodeStudio, which are free, just like Code Writer which comes with Windows 10) but not a regular word processing programme or your standard Notepad which comes with Windows.

You want to tweak the values marked in red in the accompanying picture You need to replace the placeholders, including the exlamation marks, with the actual expressions (which you can mostly copy paste form the workbook)

So line 60: !CONGREGATION_TITLE! becomes North Congregation or Congregation North, or whatever is common in Sranan.
Line 62 !TITLE! becomes the Sranan equivalent of 'Life and Ministry Meeting' or 'Midweek Meeting', whatever you want really.
Then find !SONG!, and replace (Singi). You may want to use 'find' or 'find and replace' function here, this occurs several times. Similarly find !PRAYER! and replace (begi).
Stay away form anything that has more than song or prayer between the exclamation marks.

You will also want to replace !CONDUCTOR! and !READER! (line 362, 363) as well as !CHAIRMAN! (line 90), again not !CBS_CONDUCTOR! and !CBS_READER!, as the latter are the actual person names you enter.

When done, choose Save as, and choose a name you recognise like MW-Schedule_1_SR.htm, anything will do as long as you retain the MW- part. Then copy (not move) the modified template back into the template folder.

Test and if necessary go back to the file your worked on which is still outside the template folder (that is why you copied, not moved). If you get stuck, come back here. 

I can post this particular template tweaked for Sranan, but it is just to show how it is done, since you may be more interested in other templates.

Unzip the attachment (you cannot attach a txt). In TheocBase, Settings, bottom right hand corner find the >_ button. Click and navigate to the unxipped txt file. OK the warning, and after one or 2 seconds confirm the message. 
You can import the SR workbook now. I hope...

Importing the Watchtower, is something that is enabled deep in the programme. The only thing I could suggest, is importing it manually. I'll try and work on importing the workbook later (today?), and explain how to adapt existing templates without having to translate all of TheocBase. The gist is: find the placeholder (which retrieves the local expression for defined languages) and replace it by the actual expression you need. This way you obtain a template that is hardcoded for that particular language.
